Lives of the Saints (4)

Should I call the police or The Weekly World News? I can’t decide.

This isn’t a joke John, alright?

Well what you’re saying is you were just raped… by a “God.” Is that correct?

I didn’t say “raped.”

I may have misunderstood your meaning, but as I read the context of your use of the phrase ‘immaculate conception”, it appears you associate the term with the birth of Jesus. This is incorrect. The Immaculate Conception is Catholic dogma which states that MARY was preserved from original sin in the first instant of HER conception in the womb of her mother Saint Anne, by a singular grace and privilege of God. This allowed Mary, the future Blessed Mother of the Son of God, to be conceived in a state of holiness.

I see. Not sure how I made it through 8 years of Catholic school and misunderstood that one so fully, but I’ll assume others are as flawed as I in my understanding of Christian lore and leave it in. One of those “realistic details” which can make a bit of fiction slightly richer. Your comment can serve as an addendum to insure I don’t spread my ignorance further. Thanks Bob.
