
this object’s orbit is considered strange because it is “traveling in an orbit tilted by 47 degrees to most other bodies in the solar system.”
just a gut feeling but…
once our ability to pick out “dark” objects in space improves (which is to say once we can pick out things things which are neither very close nor very bright) this orbit will no longer be considered “strange.” the info-graph they show in the article will look more like a ball of yarn with orbits at every conceivable angle.
