internet killed the alien star
the rise of the internet in the late nineties corresponded with a drop in reported UFO cases?

obviously the little green s.o.b.’s stopped probing people and mutilating cows, preferring to send nigerian scam e-mails and download furry pr0n.

i just read the article, and you know? I really never have been deeply interested in ufo’s, even though i was a major, major spacehead. it was just too clear all along that if ‘they’ were coming around, they could easily have gone public; and on the other hand, if ‘they’ didn’t want to be detected, the advanced technology that allowed them to come such incredible distances should have made it a snap to prevent detection. hell, they could just run without lights, for gawdsake. so whatever was really happening bore (most) of the earmarks of mass hypnosis, not physical visitation.

Hi,
The Internet showed this particular emperor to be lacking in clothes. If UFOs and alien visitations were genuine, tangible, objective realities, the Internet would be an unstoppable force for detecting them. How long could the vast government conspiracy last, when intrepid UFO investigators could post their prized pictures on the Internet seconds after taking them? How could the Men in Black shut down every website devoted to scans of secret government UFO documents? How could marauding alien kidnappers remain hidden in a nation with millions of webcams?
